It's almost July?!

Hi!

I know I say this often, but my goodness how this summer is flying by. Next week will be July people! July! I basically have one month of summer left, give or take, and I feel like I have so much more to do!

My Biology summer class is still kicking my butt, as usual, but THANK THE GOOD LORD it is over in July! I passed my mid-term (shout out to my mama) and I am ready to get the final over with.

In recent news, I was accepted into the College of Education at UNCC to begin working on my major! I am excited about that. I am still looking forward to hearing about the details of my job this coming month, I'm sure I'll fill you all in! UNCC is looking better and better to me this year. I enjoyed my Freshman year and I can't wait to see how my Sophomore year pans out.

My future roomie (technically roomie now), Laura, comes down in July! I can't wait to see her and catch up. I'm sure there will be a post about it! Wow, July seems like a super busy month already.

I have been slowly gathering everything I am going to need (and want) for my on-campus apartment this semester. Most of the kitchen stuff is covered, I have gotten my bedspread and a TON of decorations, probably more than I will need. I am just ready to decorate my room and experience my own, shared, kitchen! Love it. Oh yeah, and I am sure there will be a blog post about that too!

I hope everyone's weekend is going great and your 4th of July plans are all in order for next week! I love fireworks. I officially have 51 beach days left.

June Favorites.

There's a tag I've seen going around (for a while now) that explains what people's "favorites" are for the current month- these things include products, clothing, places, etc. I thought it would be fun to try out! So here it goes.

For starters,

I'm a HUGE fan of Victoria's Secret 7 for $26 panty deal. I always wait for it and I jet to it when it begins! This past sale, you received a bandeau for $5 when you purchased the panties. I have to say, bandeaus are really easy to wear and are very versatile, but I did not realize how much I would LOVE this one! Best of all- it's on sale for $6.99 right now on the VS website!
If you know me, you know I have to have my toenails painted at all times! Weird, I know. I really, really, really like the Sinful Colors nail polish line. My current color is Why Not. It's like a royal blue, but turquoise, but not. Anyways, I love it! Usually, the nail polishes are only $1.99 and they last weeks!

Oh, they joy of sweet summertime! My family moved houses this past year and we're in the current process of building a new one. We thought we would have been in it by now, but it's taken longer than we projected. Long story short, all of our beach towels are in a storage building where we can't reach them. So, we got to buy new ones this year! I love a good beach towel and Wal-Mart had an awesome selection this year. Especially when they're only about $4 a piece! We bought these three colors and they are great for the beach, pool, and boat days!

My Netflix favorite for June is Dawson's Creek. I'm on Season 3 and I'm completely engulfed! It's actually been my favorite for April, May, and June. I have been so busy these last few weeks that I haven't really been able to watch religiously like I usually do (i.e. One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy, and 90210).

One of my absolute FAVORITE things I have to have during the summer is Ocean Potion Lotion. This stuff is a miracle worker. You put it on after you've been in the sun and it keeps your tan and you do not peel from sunburn- which is what I mostly get anyway. It's about $6 and I'm almost finished with my first bottle, which a second bottle will follow shortly! Also, it smells delicious!

My last June favorite is Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation. It has SPF 18 in it, which is really helpful when you're out in the sun during the day. It goes on so smoothly and it's very even. If I wear make-up, it's usually this and some mascara. It's a great wear for the summer. I have shade 110, which is the lightest shade they have- story of my life. You can get it for $6 at Wal-Mart and other carriers.

Boats and Birthdays!

Hi to the best readers!

It's been almost a solid two weeks since my last post and so much has happened! It seems like when you're blogging about your summer, you want to do more exciting things with it to write about. I've been keeping busy with work and summer school, but boy do I find the time to fit things in!

About two weekends ago, mom, dad, and I took the boat out for a day on the water and some fishing. We almost didn't catch anything at all until a baby shark grabbed my line! I know it's not that exciting to most people, but I was tickled. I felt really bad because the hook went right into his little eye and I hope I didn't blind the little guy forever. It was a cool experience none-the-less.

Too excited about it.

Last weekend my 19th birthday fell on Father's Day, so it was a double-celebration weekend! We went out on the boat again (I could really get spoiled with that) and swam and fished. We caught nothing, but it was a good time. This trip it was me, mom, dad, brother, Nana, Grandma, Grandpa, and my Aunt Carol. Nana and mom were looking for shells and y'all will never guess what Nana found...unless you're my friend on Facebook, then you already know. It was a conch in it's shell! It was so cool! Nana was so excited about it. I mean really, how often do you just come across one of those on the waterway? Not too often.

It was the coolest thing!

After being on the boat all day, mom, dad, brother, and I cleaned up and went and celebrated a little more at Outback. Oh, the way to my heart is bread and steak. Amen. It was some really nice family time! Of course, some #hatcherfamilyselfies were involved. Would y'all expect anything less?

Selfie masters.

Brother!

I ended the night opening some very special birthday presents from my parents. It is definitely the year of the monogram for me- which is my favorite thing to do to anything anyway! I received a monogrammed gold bar necklace, a monogrammed bracelet with an anchor, pearl, and 'L' on it, and a monogrammed jewelry box to stick it all in! I'm a little obsessed.

Love, love, love.

My future roomie, Laura, was the SWEETEST thing and sent me a birthday package from Huntersville! We live about four hours away from each other, so it was such a surprise to get something in the mail! I was so excited! She sent me a picture of us from the Lake Norman camping trip we took a few months ago, a sweet anchor ring, and a mason jar full of sand with shells and coral from Japan! She took an awesome trip there a few weeks ago- so sweet of her to think of me!

 From the birthday package!

I didn't forget my sweet dad through my birthday goggles! I got him a pair of Croakies he had been eyeing while we were shopping the other week and a presh picture of him and me for his desk at work. He's the best dad in the whole entire world!

Twins.

These past few weeks have gone by so quickly. Before I know it, I will be packing it all up and moving it all back to Charlotte. This summer has been one of the best by far and I'm so excited to see what UNCC has in store for me this upcoming semester! I hope everyone's Father's Day weekend was great and all the fantastic dad's out there had a great day too! I officially have 63 days left of sweet summertime.

Really EXCITING News!

Since about the last month or two of school, I have been applying for on-campus jobs at UNCC. I found a Desk Receptionist job that really interested me and I decided to go for it. With the help of my big brother, I wrote a cover letter and a resume and submitted my application! I didn't really know what to expect or what they were looking for, so I tried not to let it discourage me too much when they didn't call me right away. I am all about some instant gratification, which is not one of my best qualities.

The last few weeks of April, I got an email that said I had gotten a phone interview. I was freaking ecstatic! I called Drew, my brother, immediately. He gave me a lot of good pointers and asked me practice questions to help me get prepared. The lady I spoke with during the interview was so nice and I felt really good about it when we ended the call. She said I would hear something by the middle of May.

Well, the middle of May came and went. I was still trying to keep my hope about it, but I was getting so anxious! About a week ago, I got an email that said on June 4th they would be sending out letters to let the applicants know if they had gotten a job or not. Today, I received an email that said I had! Y'all! This is so exciting! I will be a Desk Receptionist in one of the dorm buildings on campus. I find out my official assignment in July. I am so thrilled!

I hope everyone's Summer is going well! I officially have 75 days of it left.
